The Trench is insulated with a thin layer of luxuriously warm Canadian eiderdown. Our modern take on the iconic trench coat is functional and minimalist. The flattering A-line shape with a deep pleat in the back is dressy and elegant, belted or loose. Our knee-length trench coat is waterproof, warm and breathable.
The neckline is cut high and snug, secured by a down-filled tab with a press button. Hidden raw earth magnets create a minimalist double-breast type overlap closure. Two practical hidden side pockets, tapered sleeves, a high-low hem and a wide puffed waistband make The Trench a mid-season coat that's both stylish and practical.
Made from our 8oz Silkwax cotton, this trench coat edit from the North is perfect for those cold showers in early spring and late fall.

Founded on a quest to re-imagine northern climate outerwear, Olmsted eschews polymers selecting the best sustainably sourced natural fibres to promote biodegradability and minimize impact – all the while providing a luxurious weather-resistant coat.
In the St.Lawrence Estuary, the sustainable harvest of eiderdown establishes an extraordinary partnership between humans and eider. The benefits derived from the harvest have led to the acquisition, protection and conservation of several nesting islands in the St.Lawrence estuary.
Olmsted coats are made to order and carefully crafted in our workshop located at the mountain's footstep, in Outremont's neighbourhood of Montréal, Canada. Responsible for designing Montreal's beloved Mount Royal Park, Frederick Law Olmsted's legacy is a constant inspiration.
