& Long Life
We guarantee everything we make and stand by the craftsmanship of our goods.
We discourage overconsumption by not creating new collections and instead, perfect the ones we have, using high-quality materials to guarantee durability and long life.
If you have any questions or concerns about your coat, please contact us and we will gladly assist you.
We remain responsible for our products long after purchase by offering repairs and upcycling options through our take-back program.
The eiderdown in particular, which is an expensive commodity, can be upcycled and reused to make accessories like mittens or hats.
Any manufacturing flaws will be fixed free of charge. For damage due to wear and tear, we offer a fair price for repairs. If the damage is beyond repair, your Olmsted is still of great value. You can send it back for a 20% store credit on its original value.
The value of this 20% can also be donated to Olmsted's partner organizations, Société Duvetnor or SPA de l'Île aux Pommes whose practices contribute to land preservation and the protection of biodiversity.
Olmsted's coats are made of organic waxed cotton. This natural fabric will age beautifully and become better with time.
When new and subjected to harsh weather and cold temperatures, the wax might remain on the surface of the fabric and create white markings.
Don’t worry, these marks are temporary. Back at room temperature the wax melts again and resumes its original smooth appearance. Eventually, it will fully absorb into the cotton, and the marks will no longer appear.
When storing your Olmsted parka, always place the coat in a fabric cover that can breathe. Plastic can trap moisture and lead to mildew problems. This applies to any down-filled product and most natural textiles.
Olmsted coats are shipped with a wax bar for reproofing when needed. Waxed cotton can be easily sponge-cleaned.
